Privacy notice

This notice explains how the Holding Differently website uses information submitted through public website forms. It is written for visitors, project partners and people who may reach the site before taking part in related project activity.

The website publishes project information, manages project-update sign-ups and receives contact/accessibility reports. Completed questionnaire responses are collected in approved Qualtrics systems and are not stored as website form submissions.

Data controller and project contact

The University of Strathclyde is the data controller for personal data processed through this project website. The lead Principal Investigator is Dr Laura Steckley, Reader, University of Strathclyde, Social Work and Social Policy.

General website/project queries can be sent through the Contact page. Data protection enquiries can be made to the University Data Protection Officer: dataprotection@strath.ac.uk.

What this website may collect

  • Contact details and messages you choose to submit.
  • Project-update sign-up, confirmation and unsubscribe records.
  • Accessibility reports submitted through the site.
  • Security, session and form-protection records needed to keep the website working safely.
  • Basic public analytics only where analytics is enabled and you have allowed it.

How the information is used

Information is used to respond to messages, manage the updates mailing list, improve accessibility, maintain the website and understand broad public engagement where analytics has been allowed. It is not used for advertising.

Contact/accessibility form details are used to respond to the message or report. Update-list information is used to send project updates where a person has signed up and confirmed their subscription.

Qualtrics surveys and external links

Some project activity may use Qualtrics or other approved external services. Cookie choices made on this website control this project website only. They do not block access to approved Qualtrics links. If you open a Qualtrics survey or another external service, that service may have its own privacy and cookie arrangements.

Rejecting analytics on this website does not stop you accessing project information or approved survey links and does not, by itself, control cookies that may be used by Qualtrics after you leave this website or open a survey link.

Your rights

You have rights under data protection law, including the right to ask what personal data is held about you, to ask for inaccurate data to be corrected, and to withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.

To exercise data protection rights, contact the University Data Protection Officer at dataprotection@strath.ac.uk. You can also read the University data protection information at strath.ac.uk/dataprotection.

Questions about privacy

If you have questions about privacy or data handling for this website, please contact the project team using the Contact page. You can also read the Cookie notice for more detail about website cookies and storage.
