What this phase covers

  • Designing a survey with the workforce so it is meaningful, practical and easy to complete.
  • Work with other organisations to make use of relevant available data on the use of physical restraint.
  • Promoting participation across Scotland to build a wide picture of current practice and experience.
  • Using the findings to identify patterns, strengths and areas for deeper exploration in later phases.

Phase 2 · Appreciative Inquiry

During this phase, we will work closely with five residential child care providers to understand what happens when restraint is successfully avoided. The work will consists of desiging interview questions and focus groups, carry out the interviews and analyse the transrcipts, all the while ensuring the process is ethical.
